Nature Treasure Box
As the seasons change we can explore nature in a variety of ways. Autumn is a great time to collect leaves and other things such as seed pods that fall from trees. The larger leaves from deciduous trees can be especially fun for using in play activities.
What you need:
- Large tub
- Small toys
- Lots of fallen leaves and other nature items
Go on a nature walk with the kids and collect large leaves and seed pods. When you get back to playgroup put them into a large tub or crate. Hide little toys amongst the leaves and let the kids hunt for treasure.
Extension Idea: Some seed pods make great shakers, if you manage to find enough for your playgroup session on your nature walk why not use them as musical instruments and have a sing-a-long music session?
