Playdough – Child

playdough childPlaydough is great for all ages.

Did you know?

Big kids love playdough! Playing with dough allows your child to use their imagination and creativity to create whatever they are interested in.

Add language

Talk about how things are the same and different, and how we can change what has been made into something different.

Other development

Not all children enjoy the sensation of playdough to begin with. Using tools to start with and providing repeated opportunities to explore at their own pace usually helps children get used to “Sticky playdough!!”

Variations

Collect leaves and nature items from the garden to make playdough gardens or play scenes together.

Safety

Pay special attention to safety when using hot water

Homemade playdough is safe to eat although discourage children from consuming large quantities.

Across the ages

All the activities listed on our “Play Ideas” page can be applied across different age groups. See how playdough can be fun for babiestoddlers and playgroups.
