Hand puppets
Hand puppets are easy for young children to make and once finished are both fun to use and help develop early language and turn taking – important skills in making first friends.
What you need:
- Paper lunch bags
- Crayons or coloured pens
- Stickers and paper to add eyes, hair and other accessories
- Glue
Give each child a paper bag or two and help them to make faces on one side. Engage your child while they are making their puppet by asking them questions like, is your puppet a person or is it a friendly monster? How many eyes does it have? Is your puppet happy or sad, etc.
Once they have finished it’s time to play!
