No Mess Colour Mixing

This is a great activity to explore colours (without making too much mess!).

What you need:

• A zip lock bag
• Some paint (primary colours)
• Masking tape

Squirt two blobs of colour into a zip lock bag, be careful to keep the colours separate at this stage. Seal the zip lock bag, removing as much air as you can. Using the masking tape secure the bag to a table surface by running tape along all four sides of the bag – this will help to avoid the bag popping open. Let the kids go wild pushing the paint around with their fingers, encourage them to mix the colours together to make a new colour.

Mixing colours:

• Yellow and Blue – Green
• Red and Yellow- Orange
• Blue and Red – Purple
