Soapy Slime

Our soapy slime recipe is really easy to make and is sure to become a favourite messy play activity. This one is particularly great as it’s safe for kids of all ages to use. It’s slimy and gooey and fantastic for sensory play!

What you need:

  • 1 cup of soap flakes
  • 3 cups of hot water
  • Edicol dye or food colouring
  • A bowl
  • A handheld blender or whisk

Pour soap flakes and water into the bowl and add food colouring. Blend all ingredients together with your hand held blender (the mixture may grow in size so make sure you have a bowl big enough to contain it).

If you are using a whisk you will need to briskly whisk the mixture for 5 minutes then let it sit for an hour (approximately), whisking for a minute at a time throughout the hour.

The mixture should turn into a stretchy, slimy consistency which the little ones will have fun exploring with! You may want to double or triple the mixture for larger groups and put it in a plastic tray or tub.
