PlayConnect Update

In 2020, Playgroup WA continues to offer its PlayConnect Playgroups in four locations in the Perth metropolitan area. PlayConnect Playgroups welcome families with child or children aged from 0-6 years with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or needs related to ASD, or developmental delay. Children do not need a formal ASD diagnosis to join a PlayConnect Playgroup and siblings (under school age) are also welcome.

PlayConnect playgroups are facilitated sessions and provide:

  • Safe, supported and appropriate play experiences and peer engagement opportunities for children
  • A space for parents, siblings and extended family to connect with and learn from other families
  • Access to information and resources and links to services in the community

Like most other playgroups, PlayConnect playgroups meet weekly in school term for two hours. No referral is required, and the playgroups are free of charge to families.

Please see below details of each PlayConnect group.

Our PlayConnect Coordinator moves on…….

It’s the end of an era for our Play Connect Coordinator, Julie Bloor. Julie has ably and enthusiastically led the PlayConnect crew for the past six years but has now decided to hang up her PlayConnect boots. I know that Playgroup WA and our PlayConnect staff will miss Julie’s wisdom. To manage the gap Julie leaves, we will be calling on the expertise of our Playgroup WA Development staff and our long-standing and highly skilled PlayConnect facilitators.

In the meantime, if you have any queries regarding PlayConnect or any of Playgroup WA’s services and activities, please get in touch with Megan Dawson, Programs Manager on 9228 8088 or email.
